Owl’s Nest Resort

Owl’s Nest Resort is a high-end lifestyle resort located in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. While working there it was in the process of a massive expansion and it is still continuing today! I was really grateful to be able to grow in this role and have a fabulous team assist and advocate for my growth. I originally started as a Graphic Designer & Marketing Assistant, but was promoted to Marketing Manager within a year. I created ALOT of pieces for the resort during my 3 years there and here is just a few of the highlights.

To get a more in-depth look at my role there, please review my resume here.

Brand Design

When I was first brought on to the team my main task was to take the new branding system. To note, the new logo and brand guide was designed for them by an outside agency. My job was to now execute it across all necessary collateral. From golf scorecards to new signage, I had my hand in its design.

Along with executing a new branding system, I also had to build upon it by creating new logos and branding for the resort’s upcoming additions, like their retail shop, the SportsNest and Panorama Six82.

Web Design

After some long discussion and research, the team decided to revamp their website at the end of 2019. I knew even with my web design experience, we needed to have this done the right way with more professional help. So we brought on Silvertech, a marketing agency in NH, to take the reins with their talented team of developers. Owl’s Nest has a very diverse demographic and the goal was to create a clean, sophisticated, and navigable site for both desktop and mobile.

I was the main overseer on this project from narrowing down the design to optimizing the navigation. Plus, Silvertech and I had to work on this together and complete the site in the midst of the beginning stages of the Covid-19 pandemic. Which definitely had its ups and downs! Nonetheless, the team and I delivered a beautiful product, and the site continues to be one of the leading sources of revenue for the brand.

This project taught me so much about how data-driven, decision-making increases profit, and brand visibility. Also, the importance of making sure your designs are accessible for varying demographics, and not to alienate them.

Social Media

Of course one of the main tasks of being a Marketing Manager is overseeing the various channels for the brand. Social media was something Owl’s Nest was just dabbling in. They wanted some fresh user-generated content that could be relatable and attractive to their demographic. Followers and engagements were increasing steadily, but definitely boomed when we introduced PPC Advertising on Instagram and Facebook. So much so, all of their wedding dates were fully booked for the first time in 2020!
